My Work Uniform

From my many personal style posts, I’m sure I’ve made my preference for wearing pencil skirts over pants to the office abundantly clear. So having them be my work wear go-to starter piece should be no surprise.

But when it comes to building the rest of my outfit, adding a button down and cardigan or blazer is a no-brainer. Is it the most creative choice? Clearly not, but when that button down just happens to be my favorite chambray and fun accessories are involved, I can’t help but love it.

Shirt: J.Crew (less expensive) (worn here, here), Cardigan: H&M (simliar), Belt: Merona (similar), Skirt: J.Crew Factory, Shoes: J.Crew Viv flat, Necklace: c/o Apricot Lane

I love this combination so much, in fact, it should probably be considered my work uniform.

Do you have a combination of pieces you always find yourself coming back to?

Pencil skirts look so awesome on you, so it’s no wonder you love to wear them! The teal color of this one is fabulous, especially with the leopard!

Pencil skirts are great- they always make me feel more lady-like than wearing pants (which totally overwhelm my frame). Love the green color on you!

I love this outfit! I’m looking at a few new work options and I don’t know what to wear! My last job was majorly casual. Jeans and a tee every day. But I love the idea of getting dressed up for work. Especially when you can look that cute! Love it! xo

My “go-to” always seems to be flared or bootcut pants/jeans with heeled boots or wedges. Maybe because I’m so short & I feel like they lengthen my frame out. If I could pull off pencil skirts as well as you do, though, I’m sure I’d wear them all the time, too. At least in the summer. I’m so cold-natured, I don’t know if I could handle them in the winter! LOL! Love this outfit, especially that teal skirt. What a beautiful color!

Pencil skirts are definitely my favorite when it’s warmer out too, they’re so much comfier than dress pants!! I love that you paired it with chambray, it makes the look feel a little more dressed down.

The pencil skirt is my go to work staple as well. I almost never wear pants to work. I hate that stupid inside button they always add to women’s pants.

I typically fall into the black pants rut, but I feel best when I’m wearing some heels and a fun skirt! I definitely need to look into more colors like the one you have on for spring!

Many apricots are also cultivated in Australia, particularly South Australia, where they are commonly grown in the region known as the Riverland and in a small town called Mypolonga in the Lower Murray region of the state. In states other than South Australia, apricots are still grown, particularly in Tasmania and western Victoria and southwest New South Wales, but they are less common than in South Australia.*
