Black and White Transition Pieces

Over the weekend I indulged in a little retail therapy. After my series of Saturday mishaps, it was necessary. Luckily the Williamsburg outlets were on the way home from the beach. Is there anything better than therapeutic shopping on a dime? j.crew pleat miniOne of my favorite purchases has to be this accordion pleat mini from J.Crew Factory. It will be the perfect transition piece.Β For now it looks great with a simple button down, but I can just picture it layered with tights, booties, and a blazer come Fall and even later this Winter. Definitely a sound investment in my book!Β how to mix animal with printsanimal print mixed with plaidwhite and black lookrad market toasted coconutsWhat’s your favorite transitional piece?

Whoops! I left them off my outfit details! They are from J.Crew Factory. I don’t think they have the black and white version anymore, but I did see some all black patent ones at the store this weekend! They also come in a bright orange. πŸ™‚

this outfit is SO CUTE- you can never go wrong with a gingham top. and i used to have the same skirt from j crew! take it from me, you’re going to wear that baby into the ground. and hmmm, my favorite transitional piece? i’d have to say sleeveless dresses, because then you can layer pretty blouses under them!

When I think about the responsible and cute wardrobe I should have, I always picture your clothes! It’s so classy and work appropriate but still fun and youthful. I guess I should start investing in some good pieces, and quit buying disposable clothes….

Love the gingham top. I have a similar one from JCrew that I almost wore yesterday. Love that the print is so classic and it goes with almost anything.

Thanks for the sweet comment! Your honeymoon in DR sounds like it was a lot of fun.

I love the black gingham paired with leopard. I would never have thought to put those two together but I love it! I won the Old Navy gift card and I want to thank you! My daughter started school today which is always a sad day for me. And, on top of that, I broke my foot. So this win was a sweet way to end an otherwise yucky day. I am going to share the card with my daughter. Thanks!! Susan

You come up with the cutest outfits with the most unusual pairings. I never would think to put a leopard accent with a patterned top.

Adorable shoes! Love the whole look. I have that skirt in bright pink so I’m not quite sure it will transition to fall with me. LOL
