Fall Plaid for the Office

I am really excited about today’s outfit. But it’s certainly not for the reasons you’re likely thinking. It’s clearly not my most inventive look to date. In fact, it’s the opposite, my go-to work uniform when I’m in a rush or feeling uninspired. A button down with a pencil skirt and skinny belt always works for me.j.crew buffalo check plaidBut the real reason I’m excited about today’s look is that I finally got to break out my first flannel plaid top of the season. I bought this last month when I went on my retail therapy outing to J.Crew Factory, but since then it’s been sitting lonesomely in my shopping bag. Finally, with the humidity almost gone and a crispness to the air, it was time to break it out.how to wear blue on bluelayered silver braceletsflannel plaid for officesilver flatsI can’t wait to wear it again! This is the perfect work outfitsโ€“you look so adorable! I’m loving the accents of silver, tooโ€“I’m usually a gold girl, and I forget how much I like that OTHER metallic!

Great outfit and I totally relate to purchasing something and having it teasing you by having it just hang there waiting in the closet. My item that is doing that right now is a grey leather jacket…I love pairing leather jackets with dresses and booties, my favorite look for fall.

I love plaid button downs. I don’t know why I didn’t as a teenager. I suppose I thought they were too old-ladyish right along with loafers. I now own at least 3 pairs of loafers and 5 button downs.

You have totally gotten me on board with J Crew pencil skirts! They were my go to other than dresses for the summer. I am excited to see how you are styling them for the fall/winter because I don’t want to stop wearing them for the season and go back to boring old pants!

I really like how you dressed up a plaid shirt! It looks great with silver shoes and a statement necklace. I have some plaid shirts on their way to me and can’t wait to try my own version. Thanks for the inspiration!
