Office Style Remix

I’ve talked about my work uniform before. You know, the classic, fail-proof combination of pencil skirt, button down and cardigan? Well it’s still the old standby for when I’m feeling uninspired, but I got to thinking about how I could revamp the look without losing it’s ease. And what I came up with was a simple change, but one that made a pretty big impact on the look.how to wear pencil skirtBy swapping my standard cardigan for a long style, I completely changed the proportions of the look. In fact, it made it a little more youthful and modern. I was so surprised at how one small change altered my perspective. It felt fresh and new.modern office stylelong cardigan to workhow to wear a long cardigandark chambray j.crewDo you ever play with proportion or cut to mix up a tired look?

I have been really drawn to longer cardigans lately, especially with skirts/dresses. I think you nailed it here. And your pop of color from the bright shoe makes a statement too!

Love this! I have a few longer jackets and cardigans and have noticed the dramatic difference when I wear them. I’m loving all of these color together, especially the pop with your shoes!

I really don’t own many cardigans! for some reason I’m under the impression they look very strange on me lol. This version is so classic and elegant!

that sweater is AMAZING, and it goes so well with this whole outfit! it’s interesting how just a proportion change can alter the whole feel of a look- that would definitely expand your closet though ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ps- I’m stopping in from the Mix and Match linkup ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a bunch of cardigans and I love having something to wear instead of a blazer on a day when I want to feel just a bit cozier. I dont’ usually wear longer ones with pencil skirts, but it looks great and i will have to try it!

Your yellow shoes made your plum skirt pop. Love it. Your cardi looks great with the look. I’d have thought the length wouldn’t work, but it does.
