How to Wear a Field Jacket

I have so much to be thankful for: family, friends, health, work… I could go on and on. My many blessings aren’t lost on me, but I’m still feeling rough today. On Sunday, I sent my parents and sister back off to California after their Thanksgiving visit. Seeing them love on Layla was just about the sweetest thing I could watch, so it was especially difficult saying goodbye. And then on top of that, I had to prep myself for my first day back at the office. Being away from Layla is going to be such a huge adjustment, and honestly it’s a bit heartbreaking knowing that I’ll miss so many hours of the day with her. The thought of it alone brought me to tears a few times over the weekend. I know she is going to be just fine, but this transition is still going to be difficult.

In attempt to keep myself in a slightly more light-hearted mood this weekend, I broke out my “Blogging is my cardio” tee. Can fun tees make you feel a little less down in the dumps? I’d like to think so. It was unseasonably warm, but I still added some light layers. It almost felt wrong going jacket-less at the end of November! The last time I wore my field jacket was with plaid. I’m loving its versatility.

I have one of these jackets too and love it – I really like how you did it more casual and more polished. Definitely a versatile one… if only it were warm enough here to keep wearing it 🙂

Love this J.Crew field jacket in both colors. I have the olive one and I’ve worn it so many times. Transitioning back to work after maternity leave is so hard, especially when you have your adorable little one in your mind 24/7. Hoping it gets easier. ~Cynthia

That tee is so fun and is a great way to put a smile on your face 🙂 I’m sorry you’re having a rough time. I cry every time I have to leave my 4 month old niece and I’m not even her mom! lol. I can’t imagine how difficult it is as a mom. My sister goes back to work at the first of the year and she starts to tear up every time she thinks about it. I know it doesn’t really help but everyone says that it gets easier 🙂

So sweet. I hope going back to work gets easier as time goes by. So great to have a nanny though instead of going to daycare. 🙂

    AND I LOVE the t-shirt!

Going back to work is always rough (baby or no baby) after an extended period. I remember i called the child care place several times a day that first week. Of course, baby is okay and it’s just the parents that have separation anxiety. I hope it was not too bad for you today. Love that tee – so fun!
